Anthurium "Black Widow x Michelle" Buz 1

Anthurium "Black Widow x Michelle" Buz 1 is an epic plant that has become one of the most valuable plants in my breeding collection. I originally purchased this plant from the initial release of the cross on the Tezula website back in 2023.

What makes this particular plant so special is its almost jet-black foliage and branching spidery veins, combined with beautiful red emergent leaves. During colder temperatures, the veins and emergents can develop a pink coloration. The venation branches outward toward the edges of the leaves, contributing to its distinctive appearance.

Beyond its appearance, Buz 1 is an exceptional breeding plant. It is both a great pollen producer and an excellent seed parent, making it particularly versatile in my breeding program.

Perhaps its most valuable characteristic is its ability to pass down the spidery traits associated with Black Widow to its offspring. While it is an outstanding plant in its own right, its ability to consistently contribute these characteristics to future generations makes it an incredibly important part of my breeding line.

These traits can be seen in several of my crosses, including Araña, BWMDB, and numerous other hybrids. When I'm looking to introduce or strengthen those distinctive spidery characteristics in a new cross, "Black Widow x Michelle" Buz 1 is one of the plants I turn to.

In terms of cultivation, I've found this hybrid relatively easy to grow. I've grown my specimen in pon, where it has developed impressively large leaves. As the plant matures, it is also capable of maintaining a substantial number of leaves simultaneously, creating a particularly impressive mature specimen.

For me, "Black Widow x Michelle" Buz 1 is a great combination of amazing leaves, veins and color with awesome breeding potential. Its ability to produce beautiful offspring while reliably passing down desirable Black Widow characteristics has made it an invaluable addition to my collection.
