Brendan's Notes

Anthurium Red Queen is an exceptional hybrid originating from China, although I have yet to find a reliable source confirming the parentage of the original cross. I acquired this particular selected F2 plant in early 2026 and it has quickly become one of the prized plants in my collection.

What makes this selection so impressive is the combination of dark leaves, prominent silvery veins with red coloration running through them and an incredible silvery texture that extends all the way to the edges of the leaves. One particularly interesting characteristic is that every few leaves, the plant produces a fused sinus, giving those leaves a distinctive shape. It is also a vigorous grower, which is always an advantage when selecting plants for future breeding. While I haven't had the opportunity to breed with this plant yet, I'm looking forward to seeing how its characteristics are passed down to its offspring.

As one of the selected holdbacks from the Chinese Red Queen F2 lines, I'm excited about its potential to introduce more pronounced silvery characteristics into my future hybrids.
